20's AND 30's YOUNG ADULTS GROUP (YAG)

The 20's and 30's Young Adult Group (YAG) of young people in their 20’s and 30’s who come together each week to learn more about our faith, study, discuss, fellowship, share, and eat!  We are an open and inclusive group who loves for new people to join and welcomes people at all places in their faith journey.  We are also composed of people in every life stage that young adults go through, singles, married couples, families with children, young professionals, individuals in well established vocations and individuals still searching for their vocation.

What They Do:

  • Members of YAG meet each week on Wednesday nights at 7:00 in the SPUMC Parlor.  They typically do a 6-8 week study sessions where they learn about and discuss relevant topics in our everyday lives and how they intersect with our Christian faith.  Several past studies have included:

    • The Spiritual Disciplines of prayer, scripture reading, fasting, and worship

    • The United Methodist Social Principles (what the church teaches about all of those hot topic issues), Human Trafficking and the Sex Trade, Ephesians

    • The Beatitudes

    • Advent and Lent studies and much more.

Wednesday nights are casual and you don’t need to bring anything with you to meetings, childcare is provided.      

 

  • They  engage in service projects, fellowship activities, dinners, and are even starting to do some advocacy work on the issue of Human Trafficking. 

  • Fellowship opportunities have included, weekend retreats, dinners out, football nights, game nights, cookouts, and holiday parties. 

  •  They meet every Sunday in the parlor at 9:30 for Bible study, book discussions and fellowship.

                  

How To Participate:

If you would like to join us we encourage you to come to the church parlor on Wednesday nights at 7:00 or to check out the Young Adult Sunday school class on Sunday mornings at 9:30 also in the parlor.
