Welcome!

We welcome you to Severna Park United Methodist Church and hope you will want to become a member of our congregation.  As Pastor Ken said on the video, "We look forward to your becoming a member because your gifts and talents, that you bring here, strengthens our church and our ministry in helping others in the name of Christ".

Steps Toward Joining SPUMC

• Attend worship regularly

• Attend a Connections Gathering

Connections Gatherings

Have you been connected?  Connections Gatherings are held 4 times a year.  A Connections Gathering is a time to meet and greet others, explore the mission and ministry of Severna Park United Methodist Church, discover more of the Christian faith, whether a person seeking faith, or one seasoned in the faith, and share our lives with one another.  Should you feel that God is leading you to join with the Severna Park Church church family, a Sunday to join is offered in the same month as the Connections Gathering.  The date and time of the next Connections Gathering is shown on our Current Events web page.

People Join in One of Three Categories:

1. Profession of Faith:

If you have never been baptized, and/or have never gone through the confirmation process as a youth, you will join by professing your faith in Jesus Christ for the first time.

 2. Reaffirmation of Faith:

If you have been baptized and confirmed, but do not have an active membership in a Protestant Church (and are probably not on any church roles), or if you are coming from the Roman Catholic Church or Orthodox traditions, you will reaffirm your faith.

3. Transfer:

If you have been baptized, confrmed, and have an active membership in any Protestant church, our Pastors' Assistant will send for a transfer of membership when you have joined the church.
