SUMMER Worship Services
(May 25th - August
31 2008)
During the
summer months there will be
two worship services, 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Cribbery will be available
for both services. Youth Sunday Schools will be at
10:00 a.m. Children ages 2 through Kindergarten will meet in
Room 114 for the entire worship time. Children in grades 1 - 5 will begin the hour in the
worship service with their parents and then be dismissed to their
class. Sunday School for High School students, led by John
Knarr, will continue through the summer.
We will return to the regular Sunday Worship
schedule on Sunday, September 7th.
Sunday Worship Services
Each of our three Sunday morning
services of worship offers unique features:
The 8:00am service originated with a group of lay men
and women who created a worship setting that provides an informal
opportunity for participants to both witness to their faith and share in
the context of prayer the joys and concerns of life. The pastor
writes the worship bulletin and preaches from the weekly scriptural
texts; special music is provided by volunteer pianists, our church
organist, and vocal groups and individuals. A lay volunteer serves
as liturgist.
The 9:15am service is enthusiastically family-oriented
with a variety of music provided by our children's, youth, contemporary
and adult choirs. In addition to the celebration of Baptism and
the Lord's Supper, we often will highlight leadership from our Youth
Ministry, Mission, Puppet Ministry, Disciple Bible Study, Scouts,
Children's Christian Education and various special musical
presentations. All services of worship are coordinated and
written by the pastors.
The 11:00am service follows the same liturgy as the 9:15am
service. All services include the active participation of the
laity. Music is provided by the Sanctuary Choir.
Sunday Morning
Fellowship
Enjoy Christian fellowship,
coffee, tea and donuts each Sunday between services in Fellowship Hall.
Seasonal Celebration of Worship
Celebrations of worship on Christmas Eve, Ash
Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Thanksgiving Day provide
additional opportunities to gather together and remember God's grace.
An Easter Sunrise Service in our Memorial Garden and a series of
Wednesday evening Lenten and Advent classes with a special focus are
also offered each year.
Nursery Care
Nursery Care is provided for the 9:15am & 11:00am services as
well as for special services during the Advent Christmas and Lenten
Easter season. For more information on our Nursery Care

Worship Hospitality
Greeters are available to welcome and
assist everyone as we gather and share in the celebration of worship.
Ushers are prepared to assist with special seating needs and
to provide electronic hearing devices and large print hymnals and
bulletins upon request. Ushers provide additional assistance
during the worship services and oversee the video taping of the weekly
service.
At our Welcome Center, a state-of-the-art video of the church, as well as people
staffing our welcome center, provide program information and assistance
in locating classrooms.
Our
Altar Guild and
Communion Servers Guild are
composed
of lay men and women who receive instruction as to these important
worship-related services from the Pastors and then they are assigned to
their various responsibilities.
Between services enjoy some coffee, tee and donuts as we
gather for fellowship in our Fellowship Hall

Eucharist Celebration
As United Methodist Christians, we
believe in a nurturing Triune God who desires a deep, loving and ongoing
relationship with His children. The Eucharist (also called "The
Lord's Supper" and "Holy Communion") is the visible sign of the baptized
Christian's covenant with God as initiated and revealed through Christ
Jesus.
All (of any age) are invited to the Lord's Table; the
sacrament of Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month
as well as during other seasonal celebrations.
