One of our most fun all-church events is the Talent-Service Auction to raise funds for this summer's trip with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). It will be held March 22, starting at 6pm and ending when everything is sold. Plan to be present for homemade desserts and the usual beverages at no cost. Bid on the items of interest and enjoy the friendly competition as you just might win some fabulous donations. Childcare is provided.
We welcome your donation of your own specialty or hobby. Sample ideas include: baked goods of all kinds, quilts, gift baskets, lessons, services such as lawn work or leaf raking, time at your vacation home, needlework, meals to be prepared and delivered, and so on. As items come in they will be on display in Fellowship Hall the weeks before the auction.
The Appalachia Service Project is a home repair and relational ministry with which we have participated for 44 years! It serves the poor of central Appalachia and is mostly for high school youth, college young people, and adult leaders who are willing to work with our exceptional youth. It is a life-changing opportunity for our young people! It wouldn't hurt if leaders had some construction knowledge and a passion for putting faith into action.
Please join us on March 22 to support the youth and have a fun evening! With questions, contact Vicki Callahan (vcallahan@aol.com) or Rev. Lee (lferrell@severnaparkumc.org). Thank you in advance!
